A carbon footprint is "the total set of GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions caused directly and indirectly by an individual, organization, event or product" (UK Carbon Trust 2008).

Global warming is the name given by scientists for the gradual increase in temperatures of the Earths surface that has worsened since the industrial revolution.

Over the past two decades the effect has become more marked. Considerable evidence exists that most of this warming has been caused by human activities... that's to say we have altered the chemical composition of the atmosphere through a buildup of greenhouse gases – primarily carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide.

What if we do nothing? Rising global temperatures will cause sea level to rise and alter local climate conditions, affecting forests, crop yields, and water supplies. It may also affect human health, animals, and many types of ecosystems. Deserts may expand and some of our countryside may be permanently altered.

Here at LETTOG, we take our corporate responsibility seriously when it comes to our carbon emissions. We firmly believe that it is not just good enough to "offset" our carbon footprint by having someone plant trees and becoming "carbon neutral". Where ever possible, EVERY BUSINESS should be taking steps to REDUCE their carbon emmisions. 

Historically, agents have used their own staff to drive all over the city carying out viewings, repairs, inpsections etc. This would effectively mean IN ANY ONE CITY hundreds of trademen, property managers and viewing agents polluting the enviroment daily with cars and vans. Not only is our enviroment being heavily polluted, but there is so much wasted time and cost in doing so! Costs that undoubtably got passed onto both tenant and landlord!

EVERY MEMBER OF LETTOG HAS RECOGNISED THIS and has undertaken to work together when ever possible to utilise shared resources that are locally based to the property. This includes viewing agents, inventory clerks,property inspectors, tradesmen, cleaners etc.

LETTOG will also be proactively working with agents, Landlords and Tenants in looking at cost effective ways at collectively reducing energy costs within their rented properties.

In addition to this, both Tenants and Landlords will benefit from a more efficent and cost effective service when it comes to viewings and repairs!
